This is my pop 'n' soul (or old R 'n' B, if you like) album, my favourite era of music.

From the out and out pop of Chasing Rainbows and Hearts are Breaking, to the soul inspired Return of Innocence, Heartbeat (my take on the Bee Gees) and Bodyguard, I believe, above all, these songs have emotion. Something, IMHO is sadly lacking in today's formulaic chart music.

I think these songs most of all were inspired by memories of nightclubs, Village Hall discos and walks along the promenade, when we were young. I guess it may just be me, but there seemed to be a certain innocence about those times. This is my return to those innocent days.
